Adrian joined Cypress International in September 2024 after 30 years of operational and acquisition experience in the Department of Defense. His areas of expertise include defense acquisition, tactical network systems, energy systems, soldier programs, enterprise information systems and rapid acquisition, along with the enabling combat support and service support programs.
Before joining Cypress International, Adrian served at all levels of Department of Defense acquisition management organizations. As Senior Military Assistant to the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment, and as Executive Secretary for the Defense Science Board's study on the industrial base, he worked at the top of the Department's acquisition enterprise. Earlier he ran programs directly, as Project Manager for Expeditionary Energy and Sustainment Systems and Product Manager for the Nett Warrior program, and served as Acquisition Advisor to the Vice Chief of Staff of the Army and as a Project Officer in the Army Rapid Equipping Force. A Corps of Engineers officer, he held tactical assignments in the 1st Armored Division and the 36th Engineer Group and deployed to Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq.
As Director for Science and Technology, Adrian serves as business manager for clients whose work sits at the front end of the acquisition process, from research and rapid prototyping to programs of record. Having worked on both the program-office side and the Under Secretary's side of those decisions, he brings a first-hand understanding of how the Department of Defense evaluates new technology, funds it and moves it toward fielding.
